This note provides an update on UNLEASH’s position and ongoing efforts to monitor the effects of the Novel Coronavirus 2019-ncov.
We are diligent in our understanding and preparation around the Coronavirus, but I want to share a direct update with our community that we do not expect to experience any disruptions or cancellations related to UNLEASH Spring Conference and Expo.
A recent communication from the UK government health authorities advised that events should proceed. With this in mind, we are going ahead with the UNLEASH Spring event as planned.
We continue to have a high number of enquiries for registrations to attend the event and we feel it is the right thing to do for our community. We are also working with delegates whose companies have travel bans in place to support them.
Following a thorough review of the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UK Government, we are confident that the UNLEASH Spring event will not be adversely affected.
Our priority has been, and will continue to be, that we work closely with local health authorities to ensure that staff, exhibitors and visitors are protected from infection. Our attendees, while diverse in nature, are primarily local to the UK, and so far, no attendee or exhibitor has cancelled because of being infected during the outbreak of the virus. We are aware of some company travel bans and are working with people when affected to discuss their options. As of March 2nd, the number of cancellations by delegates from affected areas is less than 1%.
Moving forward, our website will be our central repository for all information related to the event. In addition, we will provide updates on our social channels so that all information is readily available, and we are being proactive in communicating our position. We will also be producing a fact sheet of protocols to be followed on-site by everyone so we can play our part in keeping the spread of Coronavirus under control whilst having a successful event.
Again, our priority – now and always – is the health and safety of our employees, attendees, partners, customers, and the communities in which we operate, and this will be our focus between now and the close of the event.
Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions.
Many thanks for your continued support.
